Humanitarian Aid for Children in Prison
Hannu Haukka has been in prison; not as a convict, but as an aid worker to some of the most forgotten children in the world housed in a prison and a prison camp in Siberia under very poor conditions. He brings us a fresh report of what he saw and heard in Omsk, a city with a legacy of being a prison gulag since czarist times when Dostoyevsky was exiled there. But today, the crimes are not about politics, but about survival. The crime of these children aged 12 to 18 was stealing for bread because there was no mother or father looking after them.
